What is Kotlin
The modern language of Android apps, and increasingly a backend language on the Java platform.
In plain terms
Google made Kotlin the preferred Android language in 2019, so recent Android work is Kotlin work. Kotlin also runs everywhere Java runs, and some backend teams use it as a cleaner Java. The repositories show which kind of Kotlin developer you have: Android projects or server projects.
What it tells you about a developer
Kotlin usually signals Android depth: Play Store releases, many device sizes, and mobile interface performance. Backend Kotlin signals a modern JVM engineer who converts easily to or from Java.
