What is Swift
Apple's language for iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps. The core skill of iOS development.
In plain terms
Swift is used for Apple platforms, so Swift on a profile means iOS or Mac work. iOS developers work inside Apple's ecosystem: its interface conventions, its device constraints, and its App Store review process. SwiftUI is the current way to build the screens.
What it tells you about a developer
Swift depth signals iOS and Apple-platform expertise, including interface performance on real devices and shipping through App Store review. That release discipline carries into any product team.
The name is ambiguous
SWIFT, the international bank payments network, which shares the name on finance resumes
